As a registered nurse you will be responsible for the provision of person centred care within a supportive environment. You will be expected to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, appropriately experienced and qualified senior nurse or clinical nurse specialist to join the dynamic Breast Care Nursing Team in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as their Senior Charge Nurse for Outpatients. NHS Grampian Breast Services spans across both the inpatient and outpatient setting, providing a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing investigation and treatment for, both malignant and non-malignant, breast disease within the north east. With our outpatient department seeing approximately 15000 patients per year through the following clinics: Breast Screening results Symptomatic Breast new outpatients Symptomatic Breast return outpatients Breast Radiology procedures This role of SCN within Breast Outpatients offers a unique opportunity. Not only will you undertake the role and responsibilities of the SCN, leading the team through a period of change as we prepare for our new Baird Family Hospital; but you will also be providing the dual role of Clinical Nurse Specialist part of your working week as per service demands. Due to the managerial and clinical demands of the role, extensive recent inpatient or outpatient experience in Breast at a senior level is essential. There is also an expectation, if not already obtained, for you to undertake your post graduate diploma at Masters Level in Advancing Clinical Practice, with further training to be completed on Breast Examination alongside in-house supervision with our wider MDT. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified specialist or senior nurse to develop and enhance existing skills and knowledge.
